RV Inspections

Mobile RV Inspections

Understand the RV's condition before you make a decision

RV Service Now performs prepurchase, insurance and annual RV inspections where the RV is parked. Get documented findings, photographs and a clear review of the results, whether you are nearby or buying from out of state.

When you need one

Know the RV's condition before you commit

Cracked and lifting layers of old sealant at an RV roof corner
Multiple layers of past sealant repairs are cracked and lifting at this roof corner. That is a warning sign, not reassurance that the roof has been maintained correctly. An inspection needs to assess what is still bonded, where water could enter and whether further moisture testing is warranted.
✓ Buying a used RV from a private seller or dealer
✓ New RV walk-through with the dealer next week
✓ Insurance carrier asking for a documented condition report
✓ Extended-service contract requires a baseline inspection
✓ Preparing to sell and want to know what you have
✓ RV sat all season and you want a pre-trip evaluation
✓ Annual preventive check to catch small problems before they grow
✓ Storm or hail event and you need documentation for a claim
✓ Bank or finance company wants condition verification before closing
✓ You just want a knowledgeable second set of eyes before a long trip

Condition details that belong in the report

Different findings need different follow up. These examples show why an inspection should go beyond roofs and water stains.

Loose strip displaced beneath the upper trim of an RV slide
The strip below this slide's upper trim has come loose. An inspection should document the opening, identify the material and check its attachment and adjacent sealing surfaces. A small exterior defect deserves investigation before it becomes a larger repair.
RV screen door with displaced mesh and loose retaining spline
Displaced screen mesh and loose spline are visible condition findings. Inspection photos help a buyer distinguish existing defects from items that still need an operational check.
RV sofa with extensive peeling upholstery across the cushions and back
The upholstery is peeling extensively across the seat and back cushions. Documenting that condition before purchase helps a buyer account for the potential restoration expense rather than discovering it after delivery.
RV carbon monoxide and propane alarm with its replacement label visible
The alarm label and replacement date belong in an inspection, along with the appropriate functional checks. An illuminated green light alone does not confirm that every alarm function works.

Three types of inspection

Choose an inspection for the decision ahead

A purchase decision, an insurance request and a routine condition check call for different inspection scopes. Tell us what you need the report for so your advisor can confirm the evaluation, access and arrangements before scheduling.

Pre-Purchase Inspection

Before you sign. A top-to-bottom evaluation of every major system, roof and seals, electrical, plumbing, propane, appliances, slides, awnings, and structure. Written report with photographs and a technician-to-buyer walk-through of every finding.

Insurance Inspection

Documented condition report for insurance underwriting, coverage renewal, or claim support. Photographs, dated readings, and observations formatted for a carrier or adjuster.

Annual Inspection

A preventive evaluation of roof seals, slide seals, moisture concerns, safety systems and appliance operation. Use the findings to plan maintenance and address developing problems.

Inspector or technician?

Repair experience adds context to your inspection.

An inspection should help you understand the RV, not just produce a list. Our team's service and repair experience helps connect a finding with its practical implications for ownership.

We explain what was observed, which systems were tested, and what may need additional diagnosis. You get a clearer basis for questions, repair planning and the purchase decision.

When we find a concern, we document it and explain the next step. Any additional testing, opening of panels or disassembly is discussed first and requires the owner's or seller's permission and an agreed scope.

What we inspect

Systems and condition covered by your inspection

The agreed inspection covers accessible RV living systems, exterior condition and signs of damage. The report documents findings, tests performed and areas that could not be evaluated. Scope depends on the RV, access, utilities and the purpose of the inspection.

Exterior & Structure

Roof material and seams, sealant condition at every fixture, sidewall integrity, window seals, entry-door alignment, storage-bay doors and seals, slide-out exteriors and seals, and evidence of prior damage or repair.

Systems & Appliances

Testing appropriate to the agreed scope and installed equipment: 12V and 120V electrical, propane systems, refrigerator, water heater, furnace, air conditioning, generator and plumbing. Available utilities and safe access are confirmed before the visit.

Interior & Moisture

Moisture-meter mapping of floors, walls, ceilings, and slide corners. Cabinet interiors, flooring, safety equipment, smoke and LP detectors, and any interior finding that suggests a system problem behind the wall.

How the visit works

Know what will be inspected and what you will receive

1

Free written quote

You tell us the RV, the reason for the inspection, and where it sits. We quote the visit in writing so you know the number before we schedule.

2

Inspection on site

An RV Service Now technician inspects the agreed systems, documents findings and notes any access or testing limitations.

3

Written report & walk-through

You receive a written report with photos and a review of the findings. Your advisor confirms report timing and whether the review will take place in person, by phone or by video before scheduling.

Why this matters in Florida

Find moisture concerns before your purchase decision.

Staining, lifted finishes and repeated sealant repairs should not be brushed off as normal wear. We document what is visible, investigate accessible areas within the agreed scope and explain whether additional testing is needed before you make a purchase decision.

Dark discoloration across an RV window shade beneath an overhead cabinet
The dark staining across this window shade deserves investigation before purchase. The inspector needs to check the surrounding window, wall and cabinet for moisture concerns and explain the findings. The photograph alone cannot identify the material causing the discoloration.

Common questions.

Who will actually be working on my RV?

An RV Service Now employee arrives in a company vehicle and works directly with our service team. Tell your advisor about the RV and the work you need so we can match the visit to the right technician. Certificates of insurance are available on request.

How long does a pre-purchase inspection take?

The time depends on the RV's size, systems, condition and agreed inspection scope. Tell us the year, make, model and purpose of the inspection so your advisor can confirm the appointment window and report timing before booking.

Do I need to be present for the inspection?

You can arrange a review of the findings in person, by phone or by video. Let your advisor know your availability before booking so the inspection and report review fit your purchase schedule.

Can you inspect an RV at a dealership before I close?

Yes. This is one of the most common calls we get. Most dealerships allow a third-party pre-purchase inspection on the lot with reasonable advance notice. Confirm seller permission and access before scheduling so the inspection can fit your purchase timeline.

Can you inspect an RV at Lazydays Tampa or Campers Inn?

Lazydays Tampa currently restricts our access to its property. We have not been notified of a restriction at other Campers Inn locations. If you are buying from either, call 877-777-7908 before scheduling so we can confirm access or discuss an alternative inspection location.

What if you find something serious mid-inspection?

We contact you about a significant finding and explain what was observed. Moisture damage, a damaged slide floor or an electrical fault may call for additional evaluation. We discuss any change in scope before proceeding.

Will the report work for insurance or a bank?

Tell us what your insurer or lender requires so we can confirm the inspection scope and report format before scheduling. Reports document the findings and photographs from the agreed inspection; the receiving organization determines its acceptance requirements.

Do you offer a separate water-only leak inspection?

Yes. A focused water leak inspection investigates suspected intrusion rather than the full range of RV systems. Your advisor confirms the scope and price before booking.

Can you inspect at a campground or storage lot?

Yes. Share the RV's location, property contact and access requirements with your advisor. We confirm permission, available utilities and suitable space for the agreed inspection before scheduling.

Can you help if I am buying an RV from out of state?

Yes. Share the RV listing, location, seller's contact information and purchase deadline. With the seller's permission, we coordinate access and the inspection scope. You can review the documented findings with us by phone or video before deciding how to proceed.

Buying from a distance? Start with the RV's location.
