Mobile RV Solar Installation

Solar planned around what you want to power

Want more power for camping away from hookups, or help with solar that is not charging as expected? We plan installations around what you want to run and evaluate existing systems at your RV. Your estimate explains the proposed equipment and installation before work begins.

Why owners call us

What do you want your solar system to power?

Batteries dying overnight and running the generator is not the plan
Dealer installed a suitcase panel that barely keeps the fridge running
Boondocking or dry-camping for more than a weekend at a time
Solar prep from the factory that never got a real system installed
Existing solar system where the controller keeps showing zero
Lithium battery upgrade that needs a compatible charge system
Off-grid site or state park where shore power is not an option
Full-timing and tired of paying for generator fuel and shore fees
Residential fridge that needs to stay running on the way to the campsite
Inverter that shuts down under starting loads on the AC or microwave
Just want a real quote from a shop that won't oversell you
Prior solar install was a mess and needs to be redone or expanded
Solar panels installed on an RV roof
A solar installation should fit your available roof space and the equipment you want to power. Plan panel placement and service access together.

What we install and service

Plan a solar system around your power needs

We review the panels, charge controller, batteries, inverter, wiring and protective equipment as a complete system. Brands we work with include Go Power, Renogy, Rich Solar, Zamp, Victron, Battle Born, Lion Energy, Xantrex and Magnum. We discuss compatibility with your existing equipment before recommending changes.

Rooftop solar & controllers

Rigid rooftop panel install, mount and seal, wire routing through the roof, combiner box, fuse or breaker, and MPPT charge controller with monitoring. Portable and suitcase-panel wiring available for owners who don't want holes in the roof.

Lithium bank & wiring

Lithium battery bank sized to your usage, battery box or interior tray installation, DC-DC charge input for on-the-road charging, shunt-based monitoring (Victron BMV / SmartShunt), and full cable sizing to code.

Inverter & system integration

Pure sine inverter or inverter-charger installation, transfer switch integration with shore and generator, sub-panel wiring, and residential-appliance load calculations. Includes existing-system troubleshooting and expansion.

Protect the roof as well as the solar investment

A solar installation should account for more than panel output. Mounting points and cable entry need attention too, so the proposed work should explain how the panels will be secured and roof openings sealed.

Solar cables pass through a sealed roof entry fitting. The entry point and surrounding sealant need attention during an inspection; a photograph alone cannot confirm that the penetration is watertight.

How the visit works

Review the solar plan and cost before installation

1

Tell us how you camp

Call or fill out the form. Tell us what you run, where you camp, and what problem you're trying to solve. We size the system to the answer, not to a package.

2

Design & estimate

An RV Service Now technician surveys the roof, the battery bay, and the wiring path. You get a written design and estimate before anything gets installed.

3

Install & verify

We install at your RV. When we leave, the system is wired, sealed, tested under load, and monitored. Everything is backed by a 30 day workmanship warranty.

RV solar in Florida

Roof space and camping habits shape the design

We start with your electrical loads, available roof space, camping habits and existing charging equipment. Shade, changing weather and equipment temperature limits matter when planning the installation. The design visit helps establish a suitable panel layout, battery capacity and charging arrangement for your RV.

Driveway, storage lot, campground, or resort. Wherever the RV is parked. We arrive in a fully stocked service van.

Panels alone do not determine how well a solar system charges. The controller, battery setup and charging settings need to work together.

Common questions.

Who will actually be working on my RV?

An RV Service Now employee arrives in a company vehicle and works directly with our service team. Tell your advisor about the RV and the work you need so we can match the visit to the right technician. Certificates of insurance are available on request.

How much solar do I need?

It depends on what you run. A weekend warrior who wants the fridge, lights, and the water pump for two nights off shore power needs a lot less than a full-timer running a residential fridge, a Starlink, and a portable AC on lithium. The right answer is a load calculation, not a number pulled off the internet. We do the calculation as part of the design visit.

Can I run my air conditioner on solar?

That depends on the AC, desired runtime, battery and inverter capacity, available charging and other loads. We evaluate those details before recommending a system or estimating what it can power.

Does the roof have to be redone to install solar?

We inspect the roof condition and discuss suitable mounting and wiring methods before installation. If roof work is needed, it is included in the proposed scope rather than hidden in the installation.

Do I need lithium batteries?

The battery choice depends on your usage, budget, capacity needs and compatible charging equipment. We compare suitable options as part of the design rather than assuming one battery type is right for every RV.

Will my factory converter or inverter still work?

We check the model, ratings and charging compatibility of the equipment already installed. The design identifies what can remain and what needs to change for the proposed battery bank and loads.

Can you integrate solar with my existing generator and shore power?

Yes. Modern inverter-chargers from Victron, Xantrex, and Magnum handle multi-source input cleanly, so shore, generator, and solar all charge the bank without fighting each other. We wire the transfer switch and the sub-panel so the RV runs the same regardless of what's providing the power.

Do you fix bad prior solar installs?

We evaluate existing installations for equipment compatibility, wiring, protective devices and performance concerns. You receive findings and a written estimate for any proposed corrections.
