RV Air Conditioning

Florida heat has one job. Your rooftop unit has another.

When the AC stops keeping up, the trip stops with it. RV Service Now diagnoses and repairs rooftop and ducted RV air conditioning at your driveway, storage lot, campground, or resort — with a written estimate before any work begins.

What we hear from RV owners

Any of this sound like your rig?

✓ Runs, but blows warm or barely cool air
✓ Freezes over the coil after an hour or two
✓ Trips the breaker or the pedestal every time
✓ Won't start on 30-amp or on generator
✓ Loud rattle, hum, or vibration from the roof
✓ Thermostat reads one thing, cabin feels another
✓ Water dripping inside from the ceiling assembly
✓ Cracked or storm-damaged shroud on the roof

What we service

Rooftop, ducted, non-ducted, heat pump.

We work on the units your RV actually has — Dometic, Coleman-Mach, Furrion, Airxcel/Advent, GE, and Houghton. Diagnosis first, then a written repair estimate. If replacement makes more sense than repair, we say so.

Diagnostics & Repair

Capacitor and hard-start diagnosis, PCB and control-board faults, blower and fan motor replacement, thermostat and thermistor troubleshooting, sealed-system evaluation.

Full Replacement

Rooftop unit replacement with a matched Dometic, Coleman-Mach, or Furrion, gasket kit, and reseal. Ducted or non-ducted, 13.5k or 15k BTU.

Soft-Start Installation

Micro-Air EasyStart or SoftStartRV install so the unit starts smoothly on a 30-amp pedestal — or off a properly sized generator or inverter setup.

How the visit works

A written estimate before we open a tool.

1

Free written service estimate

You describe the symptoms. We quote the visit in writing so you know the number before we schedule.

2

Diagnosis at your RV

An RVTI-certified technician arrives at the location where the RV lives, isolates the fault, and shows you the readings.

3

Repair estimate, then the fix

A second written estimate covers parts, labor, and total. Approve it and the repair happens — most in the same visit.

Why this matters here

A weak RV AC in Florida isn't an inconvenience. It's a canceled trip.

Ambient heat, humidity, and hours-long sun exposure push these units harder than any other climate. Small problems that would be tolerable in October become a walkout in July. The units that fail in Florida are almost always the ones that were never serviced — not the ones that got old.

If your unit is more than five years old and has never had a professional cleaning, the coil is the reason. We fix that.

Common questions.

My AC runs but only blows a few degrees cooler than outside. Is it low on refrigerant?

Usually not. RV rooftop units are sealed systems that rarely lose charge on their own. The most common cause of a weak-cooling unit in Florida is a coil packed with dirt, pollen, and pet hair, followed by a failing capacitor. We diagnose both on the first visit.

Can you recharge or add refrigerant to an RV rooftop AC?

The overwhelming majority of RV rooftop units are not designed to be recharged — there are no service ports from the factory. If the sealed system has actually failed, replacement of the unit is the honest answer. We'll tell you which situation you're in before you spend a dollar.

Do I need a soft-start to run my AC on a 30-amp pedestal?

You need one to reliably run a 15k unit on 30-amp with other loads live, and it's the single best upgrade for anyone who camps at older parks or runs off a generator. We install Micro-Air EasyStart and SoftStartRV, both quality options.

My unit is 12 years old. Repair or replace?

Depends on which part failed. A capacitor is a cheap fix at any age. A dead PCB or fan motor on a decade-old unit is usually the point where replacement stops making sense. We show you both numbers and let you choose.

Do you replace the AC gasket and reseal the roof when you install a new unit?

Yes. Every replacement includes a fresh gasket, a torque check to spec, and a visual reseal of the surrounding roof membrane. Skipping that step is the number-one reason new AC installs leak into the ceiling.

Can you work on my AC at a campground or storage lot?

Yes. Driveway, storage lot, campground, resort — wherever the RV is parked. We arrive in a fully stocked service van.

Cool cabin, honest estimate, one visit when possible.
