Mobile RV Air Conditioning Repair

Help with an RV AC that runs warm, stops or trips a breaker

RV Service Now diagnoses and repairs rooftop and ducted RV air conditioning at your driveway, storage lot, campground or resort. Tell us what the unit is doing, and we will arrange an evaluation and written repair estimate.

What we hear from RV owners

AC problems we diagnose

✓ Runs, but blows warm or barely cool air
✓ Freezes over the coil after an hour or two
✓ Trips the breaker or the pedestal every time
✓ Won't start on 30-amp or on generator
✓ Loud rattle, hum, or vibration from the roof
✓ Thermostat reads one thing, cabin feels another
✓ Water dripping inside from the ceiling assembly
✓ Cracked or storm-damaged shroud on the roof

When the AC runs but the RV stays warm, the rooftop unit needs inspection as well as an operating test. Checking the equipment, airflow and power supply helps identify the repair needed.

Cooling diagnosis includes the controls

These examples show different control layouts. A thermostat photo and a description of how the AC responds help prepare for diagnosis.

Wall mounted RV thermostat with temperature and mode controls
A cooling complaint starts with checking the selected setting and whether the AC responds.
RV thermostat with digital temperature display
A temperature display is only part of the check. The cooling equipment must respond correctly too.
Wall mounted RV heating and cooling thermostat
Fan operation and cooling operation need to be checked separately when the RV will not cool.
RV thermostat with display and control buttons
A control problem can resemble an AC problem. Test the controls before choosing replacement parts.
Round digital RV thermostat
Settings, power and communication with the AC all matter when investigating an unresponsive control.
RV thermostat displaying room temperature
Room temperature and the selected setting help explain a heating or cooling complaint.

What we service

AC service matched to your installed system

We check why the AC is not cooling or operating properly before discussing repair or replacement. Units we service include Dometic, Coleman-Mach, Furrion, Airxcel/Advent, GE, and Houghton. Your written estimate explains the recommended work.

Diagnostics & Repair

Capacitor and hard-start diagnosis, PCB and control-board faults, blower and fan motor replacement, thermostat and thermistor troubleshooting, sealed-system evaluation.

Full Replacement

Rooftop unit replacement with a matched Dometic, Coleman-Mach, or Furrion, gasket kit, and reseal. Ducted or non-ducted, 13.5k or 15k BTU.

Soft-Start Installation

Micro-Air EasyStart or SoftStartRV install so the unit starts smoothly on a 30-amp pedestal, or off a properly sized generator or inverter setup.

How the visit works

From diagnosis to an approved repair

1

Free written service estimate

You describe the symptoms. We quote the visit in writing so you know the number before we schedule.

2

Diagnosis at your RV

An RV Service Now technician arrives at the location where the RV lives, isolates the fault, and shows you the readings.

3

Repair estimate, then the fix

After diagnosis, we provide a repair estimate covering parts and labor. Your advisor confirms parts availability and timing, and repairs proceed with your approval.

Why this matters here

Diagnose the cooling problem before choosing a repair

A unit that runs without cooling needs more than a guess about the refrigerant. We check the equipment, controls, electrical supply and airflow to identify the problem and explain the repair options.

Share the unit's maintenance history and any recent change in cooling or noise when you request service.

Digital wall thermostat inside an RV
A blank display or an AC that ignores the setting needs diagnosis. Replacing the thermostat without checking its power and connection to the equipment can miss the cause.

Common questions.

Who will actually be working on my RV?

An RV Service Now employee arrives in a company vehicle and works directly with our service team. Tell your advisor about the RV and the work you need so we can match the visit to the right technician. Certificates of insurance are available on request.

My AC runs but only blows a few degrees cooler than outside. Is it low on refrigerant?

Weak cooling can have several causes. We evaluate airflow, controls, electrical components and the unit's operating condition before recommending a repair or replacement.

Can you recharge or add refrigerant to an RV rooftop AC?

We identify the AC model and assess the sealed system using the manufacturer's service requirements. The repair recommendation depends on the unit's design, condition and available parts.

Do I need a soft-start to run my AC on a 30-amp pedestal?

A compatible soft-start may reduce starting demand, but it does not increase the power available at the pedestal. We review the AC, electrical supply and other loads before recommending an installation.

My unit is 12 years old. Repair or replace?

We compare the failed part, overall condition, parts availability and total repair cost with a suitable replacement. The written estimate helps you choose between the practical options.

Do you replace the AC gasket and reseal the roof when you install a new unit?

We include the appropriate mounting gasket and installation checks for the replacement unit, following its requirements. We also assess the surrounding roof condition and discuss any additional work.

Can you work on my AC at a campground or storage lot?

Yes. Driveway, storage lot, campground, resort. Wherever the RV is parked. We arrive in a fully stocked service van.
