Mobile RV Awning Repair and Replacement

Help with torn fabric, damaged arms or an awning that will not retract

If your awning is torn, hanging loose or no longer opens and closes properly, tell us what you are seeing. We evaluate patio awnings, slide toppers and window or door awnings at your RV, then explain the repair or replacement options and written estimate.

✓ Motor hums but the awning won't move

✓ Manual awning strap snapped or torque tube seized
✓ Screen room or drop-down valance sagging or torn

The patio awning vinyl is peeling apart, with long frayed sections hanging from the roll. This is visible fabric deterioration, not simply fading. The fabric, attachment points and operating hardware need evaluation before choosing a fabric replacement or a larger repair.

What we service

Repair damaged fabric or get the awning moving again

The condition of the fabric, arms and operating mechanism determines the work needed. We evaluate awnings from Carefree of Colorado, Dometic / A&E, Lippert Solera, and Girard. We explain the repair or replacement options before work begins.

Fabric Replacement

Vinyl or acrylic fabric swaps sized to your existing roller, plus fresh end caps and hardware where needed. Color matched when we can.

Motor, Gearbox & Sensor

Motor and gearbox replacement on power awnings, wind and rain sensor calibration, and control-module resets on Lippert and Carefree systems.

Arms, Brackets & Full Replacement

Bent or seized arm assemblies, cracked cradle mounts, and full patio-awning replacements including a fresh sidewall reseal.

How the visit works

From diagnosis to an approved repair

1

Free written service estimate

You describe the awning and what it's doing. We quote the visit in writing so you know the number before we schedule.

2

Diagnosis at your RV

An RV Service Now technician arrives at the location where the RV lives, measures, and identifies exactly what's failed.

3

Repair estimate, then the fix

After diagnosis, we provide a repair estimate covering parts and labor. Your advisor confirms parts availability and timing, and repairs proceed with your approval.

Why this matters here

Loose topper fabric can become a much bigger repair

A flap of loose fabric may look minor while the RV is parked. Before wind, travel or slide movement makes it worse, have the fabric attachment, roller and mounting hardware evaluated together. The condition of those parts determines whether fabric replacement is enough.

If the awning is damaged or cannot be secured, tell your advisor before moving the RV.

Loose, torn slide topper fabric at the attachment side of a red motorhome slide
The loose fabric at this slide topper is more than a cosmetic concern. Left unaddressed, it can tear farther and put the attachment and operating hardware at risk. A fabric repair or replacement can become a larger job, potentially including the complete topper assembly if those components are damaged.

Common questions.

Who will actually be working on my RV?

An RV Service Now employee arrives in a company vehicle and works directly with our service team. Tell your advisor about the RV and the work you need so we can match the visit to the right technician. Certificates of insurance are available on request.

Can you replace just the fabric, or does the whole awning need to be replaced?

We inspect the fabric, roller, arms and mounts. If the rest of the assembly is suitable for continued use, fabric replacement may be an option. We confirm fit, availability and timing before scheduling.

My power awning motor hums but doesn't move. Motor or something else?

We check the electrical supply, drive mechanism and possible binding before recommending a motor or another component. A humming sound alone is not enough to identify the failed part.

Do you replace slide toppers?

Yes. Fabric only when the roller and springs are fine, or a full slide-topper assembly when the spring tension is gone. We tension it correctly at install so it doesn't sag on the first rain.

My awning got damaged in a storm and I'm filing an insurance claim. Can you help?

Yes. We can document the damage with photographs and provide a written repair estimate suitable for an insurance carrier or an adjuster.

Can you match the original fabric color?

Often. Carefree and Dometic sell the common patterns in exact replacement sizes. Older or discontinued patterns may need a close match rather than an exact one, and we'll show you the options before ordering.

My awning fabric looks fine but the vinyl is turning brittle. Do I have to replace it now?

Not necessarily, but the clock is running. Brittle vinyl tears at the first real wind, and once it starts to split along the roller edge it can't be repaired. In Florida sun, once the fabric feels stiff and dry it's usually within a season of failing. We can inspect it and give you an honest read on how much life is left.

Do you work on awnings at campgrounds and storage lots?

Yes. Driveway, storage lot, campground, resort. Wherever the RV is parked. We arrive in a fully stocked service van.
