RV Leveling & Jack Repair

Mobile RV Leveling Jack Repair

Help with jacks that will not extend, retract or hold level

If a jack will not retract, the RV will not stay level or the control panel shows a fault, tell us what happens when you try to use the system. We evaluate hydraulic and electric leveling equipment at your RV and explain the repair options, estimate and timing.

Leveling system problems we evaluate

Stuck jacks or an RV that will not stay level?

Auto-level starts and quits partway through the cycle
One jack won't extend, one jack won't retract
Hydraulic fluid leaking at a jack or pump
Pump runs but no jacks move
Control panel shows an error, a fault, or nothing at all
Slide-out interlock won't clear so slides won't move
Coach won't stay level, drifts down overnight
Manual override needed to move the RV
Extended hydraulic RV leveling jack with exposed cylinder rod, twin return springs and round foot
The cylinder rod, return springs and foot are visible on this hydraulic leveling jack. Slow retraction, uneven movement or fluid around the cylinder are details to report when scheduling an evaluation.

Check the jack and the hydraulic system behind it

A jack that leaks, retracts slowly or will not hold position needs more than a visual check of its foot. We evaluate the affected jack and relevant hydraulic components to determine the repair needed.

A closer view of the cylinder, springs and foot. These are separate inspection points; the appearance of the jack alone does not establish whether it operates correctly.
Hydraulic leveling leg with hose connection, mounting bolts and foot pad
A jack that drifts or will not hold position needs its hydraulic connections and mounting checked. The repair should address the cause, not just the leveling symptom.
Hydraulic pump, manifold and connected lines inside a motorhome compartment
When a hydraulic jack will not move or hold position, testing may need to include the pump, valves and connected lines. First identify which circuits this assembly serves.

What we service

Repairs matched to your leveling system

Lippert Level-Up and Ground Control

The system on most modern fifth wheels and travel trailers. Motor and gearbox replacement, control board diagnostics, auto-level calibration, sensor replacement, and manual override adjustments.

HWH hydraulic systems

Common on higher-end Class A motorhomes. Pump service, solenoid replacement, cylinder rebuild, hydraulic line repair, controller diagnostics, and auto-level recalibration.

Power Gear, Bigfoot, and Atwood

Electric and hydraulic platforms across the RV world. Motor replacement, pump service, jack rebuild, controller replacement, and stabilizer repair.

How the visit works

Understand the repair and cost before work begins

1

Tell us what it's doing

Call or fill out the form. Tell us the leveling system brand and what the symptom is. If you're stuck deployed, say so. We schedule a diagnostic visit at your RV.

2

Diagnostic and written estimate

Technician tests the pump, jacks, sensors, and controller. Isolates the failed part. Written estimate covers parts, labor, and timing before any component gets removed.

3

Approved work happens on site

The repair schedule depends on the diagnosed fault and parts availability. Your advisor confirms timing before approved work proceeds, with our 30 day workmanship warranty on completed repairs.

Stuck with the jacks down?

Let your advisor know which jacks are extended, what the control panel displays and whether you have a departure deadline. The technician evaluates the system and discusses the repair or recovery procedure appropriate to the installed equipment.

When the jacks will not extend, retract or complete a leveling cycle, the control response helps guide testing of the system.

Common questions.

Who will actually be working on my RV?

An RV Service Now employee arrives in a company vehicle and works directly with our service team. Tell your advisor about the RV and the work you need so we can match the visit to the right technician. Certificates of insurance are available on request.

My auto-level starts, tilts the RV halfway, then quits with an error. What's wrong?

Usually a sensor calibration issue, a low reservoir on hydraulic systems, or a controller that can't get a stable read from one of the jacks. The diagnostic runs the system manually to isolate which jack or sensor is causing the fault.

My RV is stuck deployed. Can you get it moving?

Tell us which jacks are extended, the system model and your departure plans. We assess the fault and the manufacturer's recovery procedure before attempting to secure the system for travel. Keep the RV stationary until it is safe to move.

Can you rebuild a hydraulic cylinder or do you always replace it?

Depends on the platform. Some cylinders are rebuildable with a seal kit. Others are replaced as an assembly. The diagnostic tells us which, and the estimate reflects the actual repair.

My Lippert Ground Control motor is dead. Can you replace just the motor?

Yes. Ground Control and Level-Up motors are individually replaceable. Same for the gearboxes. We swap the failed component without pulling the whole jack assembly when the system allows it.

How long does hydraulic fluid last?

Use the fluid type and maintenance schedule specified for your leveling system. We can inspect the system and discuss service based on its condition and operating history.

Do you handle warranty and extended service contract claims for leveling systems?

We can help with diagnostic documentation and provider authorization. Coverage depends on your contract and the cause of failure. Share the contract before approving claim-related work, and see our claims service for the process.

Stuck deployed, or tilting overnight? We come to where the RV is.
